Meet Minneapolis Announces Bill Hyland as National Account Executive in Washington, D.C., Area

(MINNEAPOLIS)—June 9, 2009—Meet Minneapolis™, Official Convention + Visitors Association, added Bill Hyland as National Account Executive in the Washington, D.C., area.

As National Account Executive, Bill will be responsible for markets including D.C. metro area government, military and veterans, gay/lesbian/bisexual/transgender and trade/commercial/business associations. A strong focus for his position will be citywide conventions. Bill also will be responsible for hotel meetings and group business.

With an extensive hospitality background and 14 years experience in the Washington, D.C., association market, Bill most recently was employed for more than three years by John Ascuaga’s Casino Nugget Hotel in Reno, Nevada. Prior to that, Bill was Vice President of Sales for the Hyland Group’s Washington, D.C., sales office, representing 24 hotel and resort properties and 10 convention and visitor bureaus throughout the United States and Historic Hotels of America.

A Business Administration graduate of a northern Virginia college, Bill built his career in the convention services market.

Bill is a member of the American Association of Association Executives, Society of Government Meeting Planners, Meeting Planners International and Association Meeting Professionals.
