Minneapolis Convention Center Hosts Sold-Out Concert

(MINNEAPOLIS)- Nov. 17, 2009- The Minneapolis Convention Center (MCC) held a successful, sold-out concert with Grammy-nominated recording group Skillet on Saturday, Nov. 14, filling the Auditorium to capacity seating with 3,392 excited and satisfied fans. The concert was promoted and produced by Dan Fife of Awakening Events.

"We're thrilled to have had Skillet's Minneapolis stop on their concert tour in our Auditorium," said Jeff Johnson, director of Event Services at the MCC. "It was an excellent opportunity for the local fans who may not have known we had an Auditorium before to see our space, and show other concert promoters that we have a venue where they can sell out and put on a great show."

Atlantic Records recording artists Skillet's performance was in association with Q Management Group, Awakening Events and Jeff Roberts & Associates. Their special guests on the "Awake & Alive" tour are Hawk Nelson, Decyfer Down and The Letter Black, who opened for them at the MCC Auditorium on Saturday evening.

"AWAKE," Skillet's acclaimed new album has made a blockbuster chart debut, entering the SoundScan/Billboard 200 at #2, with sales in excess of 67,000. The band's hit single "Monster" broke the top 10 this week on the Active Rock chart.
