Media Resource Room
Beginning August 29 through September 4, media resource room will be located at the Saint Paul RiverCentre -- adjacent to the Xcel Energy Center. The center will be staffed daily from 6 a.m. to midnight and a 24-hour media hotline will be available.

Filming in any public area within the city of Minneapolis requires an obstruction permit from the City. Filming requests should be made to the City media line at 612.673.3763. Filming requests for city parks, lakes, the Walker Sculpture Garden and the Mississippi Riverfront should be directed to the Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board at 612.230.6400.

Minneapolis Convention Center
The Minneapolis Convention Center (MCC) provides pleasing and innovative solutions for a variety of conferences, trade shows and events. The MCC has nearly 480,000 square feet of trade show space, 87 column-free conference meeting rooms, a 28,000-square-foot ballroom, and an auditorium with superb production and flexible technology options, the facility can handle any event from a small meeting to a large convention or trade show.

Minnesota Film Board has the resources and experience to those looking for a location, planning a scout, crewing up for a commercial or shopping for incentives.
Minneapolis 311 Service
Minneapolis 311 is part of an ongoing effort to make the City more accessible to residents and visitors. Includes information on jobs, city meetings and events, property information, police/voting precinct finder, utilities and permits. Minneapolis 311 also allows users to file complaints such as crime, traffic sign issues, street lights, graffiti, cable, health and housing violations.

Also available to the public, but of primary interest to journalists, are a wealth of online resources available at www.mnhs.org/rnc. Topics include photos and information about Twin Cities-area historic sites, a media room, a list of all of the state's governors, historical photos and library resources, and detailed information about the 1892 RNC in Minneapolis. Check back often for Collections Up Close podcasts and blogs on items in the Society's collections that relate to Minnesota's political past.
Turn to the Minnesota Historical Society Press for additional resources, including Minnesota History Magazine and an extensive catalogue of books relating to Minnesota history and contemporary life in Minnesota.
Hours
The History Center and James J. Hill House will be closed during the convention, Sept. 1-4. The Alexander Ramsey House will be closed Aug. 31 to Sept. 4. During this time, the public is encouraged to visit other metro-area historic sites, including Mill City Museum, Historic Fort Snelling and the Minnesota State Capitol.
